Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) matrix composites dispersed with potassium sodium niobate (KNN) with volume fraction of 0–30% were prepared by ball milling followed by hot pressing. Density of composites followed the rule of mixture. Good dispersion of KNN particles in PAN matrix was confirmed using SEM.12%Both reagents were analytically pure. High-energy milling was carried out using a planetary ball mill of Pulverisette-7 type (Fritsch) in water and air with Si 3 N 4 and ZrO 2 balls. Mass ratio of ball/sample R m was 15–30. The rotation speed and milling duration were 600–1,000 rpm and 1–5 h, respectively.

Strontium barium niobate powders with various compositions have been milled and annealed at a low temperature, 1000°C. It was found that powders of Sr x Ba 1−x Nb 2 0 6 with x>40 were partially decomposed and the higher the Sr/Ba ratio, the more they decomposed. It was also found that pre-treatment at or higher than complete formation temperature could prevent discontinuous grain …Sodium potassium niobate (KNN) based piezoceramics added with different amount of ZnO were prepared by ceramic method using high energy ball milling. The samples prepared have compositional formula Na0. 47K0.47Li0.06NbO3 + (x) ZnO (x = 0 wt%, 0.5 wt%, 1 wt%, 1.5 wt%, and 2 wt%) and sintered at 1000 °C for 2 h. 12%The further intensification of milling was realized by using the ZrO 2 balls, increase of rotation speed to 1,000 rpm and balls/sample mass ratio to 30. One can see that even 1-h dry milling under these conditions results in the formation of LMN phase: only weak endoeffect with minimal mass loss on TG curve, namely 1.1 % m/m, are observed at 400–485 °C (Fig. 1a, b, curves 4).The papers fall into three sections, which respectively consider the relationship between photorefractive properties and the defect structure of lithium niobate, powder preparation using a wet chemistry method and high-energy ball-milling technique, and finally the investigation of the domain structures, stability and conduction, and ...
