I am in the process of setting up a Kearney & Trecker 2HL vertical mill myself. It has three missing handles and cost $325 (killer deal). I had a quote of $950 for four handles. Unless the mill comes with a lot of tooling, I would only pay scrap price for the mill, a quick web search indicates the Tree weighs about 2,500 lbs.I have a Tree 2UVR-C milling machine that I recently moved into my shop. HI all, I have a 10x32 lathe, a 3.5x5/7/14 Horizontal milling machine and now I'm looking to get a vertical mill. I was thinking a 9x40 ish BP would be a good one but reading your posts sounds more like a light duty unit. I'm up in Alberta and don't see many machines come and go, seen one BP in three months within 1000 kilometres.My first choice for a vertical mill was a Tree 2UVR. I used one at work for over 10 years and loved it. I looked for over 2 years to find the right machine, but all that came to the market were either way over priced or worn to the point they would be expensive to rebuild. They are great for those of us who are height challenged.
